The flag of Texas or more commonly named as “Lone Star Flag” is the official flag of the U.S. state of Texas. It got its popular nickname “The Lone Star State” because of its distinguished single white star on its flag. The flag is prominent among Texans and it is considered with a great extent of reverence and esteem within Texas.
The official state flag of Texas is described as a rectangle that has a width to length ratio of 2:3; and it contains one blue vertical stripe with a width equal to one-third the length of the flag, two horizontal stripes (upper stripe white and lower stripe red), and one white regular five-pointed star.
Did you know that the flag was adopted on January 25, 1839? It was introduced in the Congress of the Republic of Texas (back when it was still an independent republic) by Senator Wharton through legislation. Until now, the actual designer of the flag is still unknown but some said that it was Dr. Charles B. Stewart.
