The official state flag of Colorado contains three equally sized stripes. The outer stripes have the same color blue as the national flag, and set apart by a white center stripe. Meanwhile, the large semi-circular letter “C” on the flag has the same shade of red as the national flag of the U.S.
But did you know that the official Colorado state flag was added to the state on June 5, 1911? The flag was designed by Carlisle Johnson in 1911 and was adopted by the Colorado General Assembly in the same year. In terms of the size of the letter C, the legislature did not specify the exact size and the exact shade of blue or red. So if you notice that some flags have slightly different colors. However, on February 28, 1929, the General Assembly added the description of the flag that the blue and red should be the same shade as the official flag of the U.S.
