Metro-Goldwyn, 1925. Roland West's adaptation of the Crane Wilbur stage hit, with Lon Chaney as a sanatorium doctor whose interest in his patients is not entirely medical. The poster keeps him in the mirror behind the couple, grinning, which is a far better idea than putting him front and centre.
An early blueprint for the old dark house picture, made before the genre had rules. For Chaney completists and anyone who likes their horror with the lights half up.
